A sideloader lifts the container off the trailer and places it on the ground at your site. You unpack at your own pace, then we collect the empty when you are ready (within the shipping line’s free days).

When a sideloader makes sense
If you do not have a loading dock, or unpacking will take longer than a couple of hours, a ground drop is usually more practical and cheaper than paying for a truck to wait.
Site requirements
- Level, firm ground (concrete or compacted surface) long enough for the container plus the truck
- Clear overhead space — no low power lines, awnings or trees
- Room for the truck to manoeuvre in and out safely
Not sure if your site is suitable? Send a few photos of the drop area with your quote request and we will check before booking.
Collecting the empty
Let us know when the container is empty and we will lift it back on and return it to the nominated empty park. We track the empty-return date so you are not caught by detention charges.
What affects the price
- Container size (20’ or 40’)
- Delivery suburb
- Site access and drop area
- Time on the ground before collection
- Port fees passed on at cost
Equipment used
- Sideloader trailers for 20’ and 40’ containers
- Prime movers rated for container combinations
