About Shams Transport

A Sydney transport company focused on Port Botany containers and pallet freight.

Who we are

Shams Transport moves import and export containers between Port Botany and businesses across Sydney, and runs pallet freight across Sydney metro, Western Sydney and regional NSW.

We focus on doing a few things well: booking port slots on time, communicating clearly, and closing every job with proof of delivery and an on-time empty return.

How we work

  1. Plain-English updates — every job has a reference you can track online.
  2. Compliance first — accredited, licensed and insured for the work we do.
  3. Joined-up service — port, unpacking, storage and pallet delivery with one point of contact.

Credentials

Accredited, licensed and insured

National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS)

NHVAS

Accredited under the national scheme for heavy vehicle maintenance and mass management.

NHVAS is a national program run by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR). Accredited operators follow audited systems for keeping heavy vehicles maintained and loaded within legal limits. For you, it means your freight is carried by an operator whose safety systems are independently audited.

Higher Mass Limits (HML)

HML

Approved to operate eligible vehicles at higher legal mass limits on approved routes.

Higher Mass Limits allow eligible heavy vehicles to carry more weight on approved roads, provided they meet strict requirements. This helps with heavier containers and can reduce the number of trips needed.

77G Licence (Customs Depot)

77G

Licensed under section 77G of the Customs Act to hold goods subject to customs control.

A 77G licence allows a depot to receive, unpack and hold imported goods that have not yet been cleared by customs. It gives importers more flexibility when containers need to be handled before clearance is complete.

Dangerous Goods Licence

DG

Licensed to transport packaged dangerous goods with trained drivers and placarded vehicles.

Transporting dangerous goods requires licensed drivers and vehicles, correct documentation, placarding and segregation. Our DG licensing means we can move packaged DG in containers and on pallets in line with the Australian Dangerous Goods Code.

Transport Insurance

Insured

Insured for our transport operations. Certificates of currency available on request.

We hold insurance for our transport operations. Ask us for a certificate of currency. Note that cargo insurance for the value of your goods is generally arranged by the owner of the goods — speak to your broker or forwarder.
